[DeTomaso] ZF Seal Question

I wasn't sure I wanted to put this question out for fear the answer may
further delay my return to the road, but gotta let my head rule and heart
rest on this. I know I'll probably get the usual range of opinions, but
I've learned to "average" the responses as I figure everybody's input is
valid.

I have had my ZF out twice since I've owned the car. I do not know if it
has had any work done on it in it's lifetime. Neither time I pulled it was
there any outward evidence that any of the seals were leaking.

Part of my project this spring was to clean and paint the trans before it
went back into the car. To do so, I stood it on the bell housing on a dolly
with a hole to allow clearance for the input shaft. Last evening, when I
returned it to the horizontal, there was some seepage of gear oil at the
input shaft seal - in total probably not even a teaspoon, after standing on
it's end for three months. I'm figuring this is not enough to worry about,
and is mostly caused by all the oil resting over the seal, but as in my
opening comments, would like an opinion from the learned masses.

Thanks in advance.
Mike Thomas
