[DeTomaso] Need an Oilite non-magnetic pilot busing

Hi Doug,

Any time I see a badly worn pilot bushing on what is most likely a low miles
car, I think misalignment of the input shaft. The input shaft and the crank
need to be on the same plane (if that is the right word). I did have a Doc
around that had a very simple testing method...but as normal for me I cannot
find it.

The oillite bushing that I removed from my Pantera was clearly stamped with
the Ford logo - the word Ford inside an oval outline. It was also severely
worn with a great amount of "slop" between it and the ZF input shaft, a
situation that is definitely detrimental to the input shaft transmission
bearing. I have an inherent distrust of needle bearing in an application
like this, but I have come to believe, after talking at length with Dennis
Quella and looking at my well worn bushing, that a needle bearing is the
only way to go.

suppose that different flywheel manufacturers might maintain different
tollerances, and it might be better to get the bushing from who ever made
the flywheel.
