<<< I'm keeping the system stock so don't want to introduce anything exotic or racy - just reliable, functional and of good quality. Also - would including Porterfield replacement pads for the stock pads be a good idea? I don't drive the car on the track - only normal (sometimes spirited <grin>) street driving/cruising. I don't want anything that will cause premature rotor wear or anything. >>>

  Phil,

The factory stock brake pads are extremely hard and will likely cause premature rotor wear. I removed my factory stock brake pads from my 100,000 mile car last year when I upgraded to Porterfields and they had so much pad material that they still looked new. But my rotors were well worn! The stock brake pads are only marginally effective too. GET PORTERFIELDS. They're great! My car stops better now than it ever has before.

Also, I've heard stories of people trying to get stainless flex lines to fit properly to their Panteras. Several of the vendors I spoke to include "adaptors" to get the generic hoses to "fit". If you send your old brake hoses to Porterfield, they'll manufacture a set of new stainless teflon lined flex hoses for you with the CORRECT fittings FOR YOUR CAR. I think the cost is $25 each and turn around is about 2 days.

  Cheers!
  Garth
