[DeTomaso] Charlie on the hook again....

The European Fords were very different from the USA Fords; although as
you say everything was ultimately under the control of or at least
approved by Detroit.

Ford like all the manufacturers uses outside suppliers for many of the
parts and I'm sure most of the electrical parts for Ford Europe were
sourced from European suppliers. On the Pantera the turn signal and
ignition switches are very different from those found on US cars;
however the alternator and voltage regulator are US parts and were most
likely shipped with the engines.

Any of you old Ford guys know who they used to supply electrical parts
for Ford Europe?

Isn't a Ford a Ford?
Everything Ford Europe does
or did was or is under control
of Ford USA.

I thought the ignition and
turn signal switches were
European Ford?

As does the wiper motor and
the cooling fans.

There are other British
electrical items, like the
Otter fan
thermo-switches, the front
flashers, and I would be very
surprised if
not the entire electrical
system around the steering
wheel is British.
The fusebox is probably
British as well.
