[DeTomaso] NPC: Lost my Holley ProJection 2BBL ECU

Well, did some troubleshooting on the old Jeep this afternoon after
changing plugs on the ZX2. (darned if the stinkin' replacement plugs
weren't Platinum too, at least they were NGK and not some Motorcrap, and
the gap was way smaller than the POS I had to put back in last weekend,
at least it ran) back to the point at hand here. . . .

It would appear that the brain box, the ECU of my Holley 2 barrel
Pro-Jection system on my Jeep has gone south. I plan to pull the box
sometime this weekend and do some general electronics troubleshooting,
but I'm not hopeful it's something easily found. The ECU fails to run
the fuel pump and fails to pulse the injectors. Power is going to the
unit on several lines, grounds have been checked, etc.

I can run the fuel pump by powering it manually at the battery which
then pressurizes the system. I have a pressure gage both pre and post
TB. With pressure applied and the key cranking, the injectors fail to
pulse Now, it's certainly possible the pulse from the electronic
ignition has gone bad so the ECU is not getting the feed it needs to
trigger the pulse (according to the installation manual it needs that
pulse to know when it's "okay" to pulse the injectors) but I've not
checked that thoroughly. I just know it sparkied when I last tried it
when I pulled a plug wire and cranked. But since the ECU is no longer
powering the pump, I have my suspicions that the ECU has simply gone bad.

The ECU has been installed on the jeep for about eight or nine years as
I figure it. I guess maybe I shouldn't complain considering it was one
of the very first analog units Holley offered. So I'm shopping.

Summit has a replacement digital ECU, that appears to be a drop in
replacement for my old analog. $305 (ouch). I'd love to get it
cheaper, or if somebody on this list has an old 2V system they would
like to part with (I really only need the ECU), I would be interested in
hearing from you.

Thanks,
Asa Jay
