[DeTomaso] 17" tire scarce?

Dear Joel,

For what it is worth:

1) the bigger the difference between your front and rear tire size, in the order of what you're contemplating, promotes understeer.
2) Dennis Quella's recommendation for Panteras is a max rear tire width of 315 for stock bodied cars.
3) my cars run the 315s on the rear and one has 245-40-17s in the front and the other one has 255-44-17s in the front
