[DeTomaso] Place to park overnight in Monterey?

For the Monterey weekend, I will be staying in my usual place in Pacific
Grove Friday and Saturday nights, but I do not have a place on Thursday
night.  My grand plan is to just throw a sleeping bag in the back of my
truck, park somewhere overnight, then head off for Laguna Seca at oh-dark-30
Friday morning.

Since the local police probably won't make much of a distinction between car
camping and being homeless, I need to find a quiet, safe place to park.
Suggestions?
