[DeTomaso] [resend] Shock removal

Asa,
 
To remove the shocks, a spring compressor is not  required:
 
Assuming you have OEM shocks/springs:
 
Remove wheels.
Unbolt upper and lower shock mount bolts.
Unbolt lower ball joint/A-arm bolts. (You can unbolt the  top ball joint 
A-arm bolts, which makes things easier to handle, but you  must mark the exact 
location to retain your camber setting.)
Force the upright and upper A-arm as far up as you can and securely  prop it 
up. (Forcing the A-arms takes some muscle as you are twisting the rubber  
bushings.)
Force the lower A-arm as far down as you can.
The shock/spring will fall out.
 
If you have after market shocks with small diameter springs, they  will come 
out while the A-arms remain attached.
