Any auto parts store should be able to supply you with a 'standard' 351C
thermostat. Tell them it's for a 1972 Mustang with a 351 CLEVELAND.

Having said that, you can buy a 'better' Robertshaw thermostat. Going from
memory, the part number is 333-180 (for a 180-degree thermostat), 333-192 (for
the 'standard' 192-degree version).

Going on the Summit website, it points you at the 330-180, for a "Ford 351",
which is actually for a Windsor. In fact, their website sort of breaks
down--when you go through the motions to select "Ford Cleveland", it then only
shows you radiator caps???

Robertshaw manufactures the high-zoot $15 thermostat and it is sold under
many brand names; Flowkooler is one. Here is a direct link to their site which
does an excellent job of showing the characteristics of the different
thermostats:

Contrast the 330-style (which is a Windsor style, and what you probably have)
with the 333-style (for the Cleveland family). They are nominally identical
EXCEPT for the 'hat' which appears at the bottom in the drawing of the 333
style.

Although the Summit website won't lead you there by the hand, if you enter
"Flowkooler 333-180" it takes you to the proper unit. There is NO description
at all--it just says "Thermostat", but because you did all this research at
the manufacturer's website, you know it's the one you need.

Good luck! :>)

Mike
