I just moved (and updated) my cooling article over to the new website. For
some basics, details, and photos

Hello,

For the last few years I have been having an issue that I am hoping that
someone may help me with.

I have a 73 Pantera L with stock radiator, no mods anywhere.

When idling or slow driving all seem fine.

Under medium to heavy acceleration, it starts to blow steam from the
excess water tank hose under car pass. side and whistles.

I have checked:

- engine temperature: 220 - 240 F, even replaced sender and installed an
electronic thermometer gauge.

- water pump ok, new, also put transparent hose under car to see water
flow

- new front fans, new wiring, both run properly blowing air through
radiator.

- replaced thermostat

- checked timing

- checked radiator (original), cleaned. Funny that radiator is quite
cold, can touch it when boiling in the back

- filled with coolant properly, car 20 deg nose down

- checked filler tube near radiator for air pockets

- replaced pressure cap on rear water fill tank

- checked for cracked hoses, replaced most hoses.

I am thinking to replace with the larger capacity radiator, but if the
original one is cold almost I do not think this is the issue....

Help, please :(

Thanks,
