SOBill,

I remember at Dad's service station having to remove all the Ca stuff that
was installed on a customers, 66 Olds Delta 88. He told me to rip this "S"
off my car. Wires, relays and hoses, oh my! 

That had to be around '73 or so.

I remember when CA mandated PCV valves be updated to older  cars.
 
I took my car to a shop. They drilled a hole thru the cast iron  intake 
manifold while it was on the car and banged in a press fit tube to hook  up
the PCV 
valve.
 
I guess the cast iron chips were small enough that the engine could  digest 
them  .... never had a problem.
