  I have 80s BMW seats in my 73, mine are grey cloth and I love them! Bob Benson also has them and I know he likes them also. I think Bob is about 6'2" so he has the seats bolted directly to the stock floor. (not dropped) He has head room even with his race helmet.
  If you go this way you'll have fab your own mounting brackets. Check out this site aardvarc at 2002parts.com.
