Is this due to lack of support between the two sidewalls in the rails? If so
the risk of overtightening the support and collapsing the rails will be
solved with a bit of thickwalled pipe between the walls that the supportbolt
can run through.I read the workshop manual and could not find a torque spec
for the support, maybee someone else know :)

The early Euro cars were also dubious in the chassis department, and the
early US cars were all recalled so reinforcement plates could be welded in
place.
Stephane Bergeron's pushbutton #1256 didn't get that treatment of course,
but he got a Hall chassis reinforcement kit, which gives you a terrific
surface to torque against.
