[DeTomaso] Just whe I thought it was safe to go backinthe water...

Øyvind,

That was the original claim but it was later said not to be the actual case, at least not from the factory. Now we're debating the general practice of paralleling fuses. :-)

With that said I'd like to add that on my car I found that removing all fuses still left some systems powered. When I removed the fuse box I found an automatic fuse wired in parallel with one of the "normal" fuses which provided power at all times. Just when you thought you'd seen everything... :-|

Guys, its very common to bridge a feedwire into the fusebox,so that it supply
several fuses and their electric consumers, but are you saying that De tomaso
has connected together two fuses on the output side too!?

You can parallel fuses although the slightest difference in resistance in
the wiring, fuse holder etc will offset the current one way or the other
leading to a lower rating than in this case 2x10 A. The skin effect is an AC
phenomenon and will not affect these fuses in a DC situation.
