[DeTomaso] 86 Pantera GT5s for sale on Craigslist

Fred -
I've seen several wingless original GT5-Ss... If I were to take a stab in
the dark, I'd say that 1/3 have no wing and 2/3 have wings, based on what
I've seen at the International deTomaso meetings.

I'd say that the majority of them have wings, but "rare" seems a little
strong for the wingless flavor.

However, as you say, Amerisport cars may be another thing. Or grey-market US
cars.

Mike,

I thought an asking price of $75k was mentioned in an earlier post.
Maybe I misread something.

Other than Stephane's car and the one currently for sale, do you know of any
other wingless GT5-S cars? At one time I knew the whereabouts of just under
20 GT5-S cars in the US and all of them had wings. Kirk's Amerisport cars
make up the bulk of the GT5-S cars in the US and all of his had wings. Since
Amerisport was the manufacturer, I would say these cars were stock from the
Amerisport factory with wings. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say any
wingless US cars are rare.
