Sometimes, trans grinding can be fixed by simply adding a long-throw clutch
slave cylinder, since grinding means you're trying to shift before the clutch
is completely separated or the gears have stabilized. Other times, it means the
condition has gone on too long and there's metal missing in the synchros,
which is usually a BIG BUCKS fix not possible in your garage. Its also possible,
in a perfect tranny, to 'beat' the synchros by shifting too fast. Take it a
little easier shifting, be sure the stick is centered per youyr Red Owners
manual, and be sure the clutch is flat on the floor before moving the stick. This
will extend the life of whats left inside. Good luck- J DeRyke
