slow progress - got the nuts off the bolts and the orig mc is off (flare came off easily) - then more problems
= the oem style replacement (got mine from s. wilkinson) is not the same or the orig - the end where the plunger goes in is bigger in diameter than the stock one - so the the stock washer and snap ring do not fit - so you (I) could not use the stock plunger as hoped
= on to taking off micro c clips on clutch linkage - get the first one on the bottome of the parallegram linkage and the pin is frozen - take the top off (lose that c clip) and that comes out
= now on the bracket that links the mc to the pedal - got that c clip off (but bent it up pretty bad) and that pin is frozen - try as i might (after squirting it with every solvent know to man) can't budge it - and of course, the c clip was on the console side, so can't get a punch on it
= so plan D is to take the whole linkage off the pedal mount (the thing that the gas pedal slides on to from the other side)
QUESTION: how do i get the linkage off? - i can't see the well because it slides off toward the console - is there a c clip over there like what holds the gas pedal on? - it looks like it might be a pin with a head...in which case perhaps the pin unscrews? - i notice a triangular piece of metal on the linkage side - is that meant to take a wrench?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! - frustrated (and woozy from inhaling too many solvents) in Texas! - stephen
