Hi Chuck, this is what I wrote about mine last year. The fronts fit nicely,
but rub the lower control arm at full lock when at full droop. That doesn't
happen too often, so I can live with it. The rears do not stick out far
enough for some tastes, but they do stick out farther than the original
single slots.

I wasn't going for cheap, but since it was there, I went cheap. Very
cheap. I've got single slot campies, and I thought I'd be sad if I dinged
them with some spirited driving. So I looked at getting some regular
campies and I didn't think $1000 for a set sounded unreasonable. But I was
intrigued by the Cobra R wheel thread that keeps emerging on the list. I
bought 4 Cobra R rims for $300 bucks, but one of the things that disturbed
me in some of the pictures I saw was the front wheel looked too big at 17"
x9.5", and the tire size was too small for the wheel to keep it from
rubbing. So I bought some repo Cobra R rims at 16"x8" for $100.00 apiece.
Seems they're clearing them out since most folks want bigger rims these
days, so the new ones are very cheap.
I bought some Sumitomos in 245/45WR-16 and 275/40ZR-17 meats from Tire Rack
for $69.00 and $88.00 apiece respectively and put them on the car. The rear
ones fit great. I could get spacers to bring them further out to the
fender, but they aren't as far in as the stock rims anyway, so I'm not
concerned. I can't say the front ones don't rub. They don't rub much more
than the stock tires do, and if I keep away from the extremes (like for
parking maneuvers) they should be fine. They look fantastic!
So for bop around wheels and tires, I didn't spend more than $700 bucks; I
got all new rubber, a great new look, and I don't need to buy wheel
insurance :) See some pics on my Flickr set:
