Q-#1: No, except for the combination of a stock condenser and a
slanted-forward radiator. The stock condenser is thick and may have interference problems
with the front hood support and the face of the radiator. None of this shows up
if the rad (aluminum or brass) sits upright or is only slanted a little.
FWIW, the slant only allows easier access for the radiator hose clamps & sucker
fans, and has little if anything to do with better cooling. You will have to
fabricate some sort of mount for the condenser, as rubbing-contact between the
rad and a condenser may cause either or both to fail.
Several of the vendors sell a complete kit to mount the condenser up front
and there seems to be no negatives as long as you have a radiator that will
accept the extra heat-load from the A/C. If you go with an aftermarket condenser,
remember the Pantera's cabin is quite small so you don't need a condenser the
same size as the radiator. Half-size or a little less will cool just fine.
Dryers are designed to fit upright; I used a dryer from a Ford semi cab that
is an inch shorter and an inch larger in diameter, and fits nicely in the
upper right corner of the front trunk, behind the battery. This is convenient,
allows the sight gage to be easily visible and is protected. A std Pantera
dryer is too long and hits the hood. A hole drilled in the inner fender panel
allows the inlet connection to the dryer in this position and the outlet goes thru
an existing hole in the front firewall to the evaporator valve which is very
