[DeTomaso] Engine/distributor questions

All brands in the Summit catalog list the same distributor for the 351C/M,
400, 429/460 engines.

I think you need to wait for Thomas to chime in. He's got a webpage with all
that info documented .

Note that is ins't a custom setup - it is a standard Ford hole, but a
non-standard Cleveland hole. So a distributor for a Ford 460 or something
fits just fine. 

I also thought that the problem was the hole in the block.

Ah, the very bottom of the driveshaft then, how odd.   Somehow I always 
thought the issue was the size of the mounting hole on the top of the block.

So what is the solution when buying an aftermarket distributor?   Custom 
driveshaft?   Or change the oil pump to a conventional style?   (Isn't the
issue 
then that the bottom of the shaft enters the oil pump, which is a
non-standard 
size?).   

I'm getting further confused. :>)
