[DeTomaso] 3.  Porterfield r4s pads, front & rear - with the e-brake groove in back.

Tom,

Just order the pads they say will fit with the pins or whatever they are using these days. If you have not rebuilt the rear brakes before, you may want to have a manual handy. You need to rotate the rear piston about 90 degrees so you can push it into the bore, then rotate it back. The pin on the back of the pad engages the piston so it won't turn. Its part of the emergency brake function. If the pad is smooth on the back. The piston can rotate and your e-brake won't hold.

So,
1) When I order pads, do I have to ask for anything special?
2) When I install the pads, do I have to do anything special?
Thanks

The grove is in the caliper piston, the pin should be on the pad.

I just talked to a Porterfield Tech. They said they don't know anything about a "groove" mod for the R4S Pad. It has pins???
Please help with this. Or recommend a point of contact at Porterfield that KNOWS Panteras.
THANKS!
