Chris,

That’s great news!!  I have to credit Dave Doddek for his initial help with
the dip switches.  It’s sometimes amazing how little the tech experts know
about how their own products work.

Dear Jim and all,

I had Summit return the cruise control I had returned to them (I called them
after getting Jim's note, below and said I wanted to give it one more try
and it arrived back here again this week).  Today (just before it started
snowing) I reinstalled it and used the switch positions Jim recommended.
Guess what...after checking and rechecking everything with the Audiovox guy
on the phone who assured me the switches were in the correct position and
still finding the unit inoperative, now using Jim's approach IT WORKS
PERFECTLY!!!!  Since I already had ordered the optional vacuum canister I
used it in the system, too, and now I can cruise along at speeds as low as
18 mph!

Thanks to all who assisted me with this thing--I've been fussing with it for
months.  If only I had remembered Pantera Owners generally know more than
most of the manufacturers of the parts we use on our cars.  I would have
saved me a ton of time.

Well, one more indicator that Las Vegas is in my very near future!

Chris,

Yes, I did remove the jumper.  If you have a problem using my settings it
will be in #7 because I had a different type switch I wanted to use.  My
switch mounts right on the turn signal stalk and looks almost factory.  It
had the opposite on/off settings as the Audiovox unit.  I’m reasonably sure
the settings I sent you will work.

Let me know if you have problems.

After giving it much thought, I decided since your dip switch selections
were so much different than what the Audiovox guy told me to use, I'd try
yours!

I contacted Summit and they are going to send back to me the unit I just
returned to them so I can try the new positions to see if I can get it to
work.  I figure I'm only risking another $8.00 of shipping charges if it
still won't work (plus an hour or so more labor...).

One question:  Did you remove the little "jumper" from the cruise control
unit?   I think it's supposed to be removed for manual transmission.  I
removed mine, and I don't know where I put the little jumper thing, so my
hope is yours is removed, too.
