Dear Fred,

FWIW, I seem to recall an article from years ago which addressed this
repair. I don't remember if it was PI or POCA newsletter.

I do remember that the author's front bumper was as wavy or worse than mine.
His approach was to remove the bumper and, IIRC, cut away the rubber portion
on the undersurface of the bumper in such a way that the bumper was now thin
enough to "unwave". He also welded in a metal bar that fit into the trough
or groove cut previously. Finally, he applied some sort of super adhesive
and clamped the rubber bumper down onto the bar. When dry, the bumper was
"good as new" and not wavy.

Does anybody else recall that article?
