[DeTomaso] Clearance issues

The brackets that hold the bottom of the fuel tank heat shield somehow let 
go, resulting in  direct contact between the headers and the shield.  Needless 
to say, a distinct burning odor and a large quantity of smoke interrupted what 
was to be a relaxing cruise in the beast yesterday evening.  Before I begin to 
repair this damage, I am curious what others think will be adequate clearance 
to prevent this from occuring in the future.   Bob R. #3810
