Most track events require you to have the 
windows down in case they need to get to
the driver.... some require a window net
We did run windows up at a Shelby event
due the rain.... that was worse as the windows
were fogging up in the race car.
 
Silver State requires windows up but I believe
it is due to the higher speeds and winds
which can move the car around quite a bit
And who cares about gas mileage unless
you run out before the end of the 90 miles
which was real close for me.
