Hi Mike - my car is 4113 and pretty stock - it has a flat mesh screen with no variations in height - this sounds like the "older style" or "second gen" all mesh screen and it came on 4113 - fwiw - thx, stephen

Well, that's what the book says? It seems to show that the second-gen
screens (from 2002 through 4580) were all mesh also.

Mine #3960 has a solid center section, but it may have been added
after-the-fact? It looks like an L-model center on a pre-L screen? But I wish I had a
better idea as to what other cars of this vintage were fitted with. It
seems to me that more cars than not have the center section, but the book would
indicate that they weren't in widespread use until #4580. There is a TSB for
dealers to fabricate a simple, flat cover by pop-riveting sheetmetal over the
top of the mesh screen, but nothing in there about adapting a late-style hump
to an early-style cover.

Hmm.

Mike
