[DeTomaso] Exhaust "Popping"

It looks like it could be two of these. The fellow who installed the engine
used the wrong exhaust gaskets, plus they were burned out (probably due to
loose header bolts) and the fuel pressure regulator was set to 3.5 psi,
which I understand to be inadequate for a Holley 750 dual pumper.
I'm having trouble finding correct header gaskets so I won't be able to try
it again till tomorrow. The exhaust ports are regtangular while the header
tubes are round. The Mr. Gasket set has openings too large for the header
(the header tube diameter is smaller, meaning the exhaust port opening in
the gasket extends over the edge of the header tube allowing exhaust to
escape from the head). The stock ones appear to be too restrictive.
This engine is supposed to have 4 bbl heads but I'm checking the casting
number in the morning to make sure they are not 2 bbl heads. It's an Aussie
block so who knows.
