Yep SPST 4 or 5 terminal relay. SPST relays are optimally used to close a
circuit to activate an accessory. SPDT relays are usually used to open a
circuit to deactivate an accessory. You want to run a 12 or 14 gauge fused
(30amp) power from the battery to terminal 85 on the relay. From terminal 86
on the relay run a 12 or 14 gauge non-fused wire to the fan. Next run the
switched (sensor wire) to terminal 30 and a fused wire from the fuse box to
87. Using a 5 terminal relay will allow you to wire a switch to manually
turn the fans on or off any time you want and still have the temp sensor
activate the fans when necessary or when you are not paying attention to the
engine temp. The manual fan switch is nice to have when stuck in traffic or
in the Concorso line to keep the temps from rising in the first place.
