[DeTomaso] light switch removal question

Hi everyone;

I'm trying to add a wiper delay to my early '72 (I know, I'm not supposed to 
take it out in the rain, but this is the Evergreen State and it can rain 
suddenly in the middle of July...)

I've looked at the wiper knob on the left side of the dash but see no way to 
remove the black, plastic knob.  I need to get that off so I can pull the 
switch back through the back of the dash to access the wires.

Any suggestions?
