You coming from SoCal?
It's an absolutely outstanding drive. It's that road that you've pictured
all your life as that straight, no speed limit, empty Nevada highway. Hope
I don't get caught (won't be driving a pickup).

I will probably try that route. It sounds interesting.
I have a tranny cooler and an oil cooler, so hopefully that will keep things
alive.

Hi Mark:
The first time I made the Baker - Pahrump trip I thought my Ford was
breaking down. As I drove along my truck's power kept dropping lower and
lower and lower and eventually even shifted down into low gear. As I
chugged along this completely flat (?) highway I started thinking that maybe
I had another clogged fuel filter from that delicious $4.00/gallon gas in
Baker. Turned out that I was climbing a verrrrry long and very gentle hill.
It was so long and so gentle that it looked completely flat. Eventually the
"Check Engine" light came on from what I was later told was probably from
overheating the transmission. I wouldn't make that trip again without a
transmission cooler, that's for sure.
Hope that helps.
MM
