The buzzards, wild pigs, cattle, pissed off ranchers and little ol' ladies 
driving to town have made the
ORRs interesting the last few years.  Chances of damaging your car are still 
much higher on the open track/road racing events because of the other cars 
proximity.  If you do go off, hopefully you'll
have a big run off area or a smooth retainer to catch you if you go too far. 
  An EMS unit is always within sight too.  What makes ORRs so dangerous is 
that if you go off there are no good places to do it.  You're going much 
faster most of the time in basically a street car.  If you're lucky, the EMS 
won't be more than 10 or 12 miles away at most and you're not more than an 
hour from a hospital.  This is important because going off course at an ORR 
is almost always bad.  So you just gotta choose between body damage and body 
damage.  It can happen.
