Oil Temperatures - Placement of gauges
As a related post to the Oil Temp discussion, has anybody mounted Oil temp and Fuel Pressure gauges on the front of the engine such that they can be quickly viewed through the rear view mirror? If so, please post a few pics of how and where you mounted them and which gauges do or do not stand up to the heat in that area. Charlie McCall had a mechanical oil press gauge mounted atop his engine screen so that it's quickly visible in the mirror, right Charlie? Mike Sent from my iPhone On Jun 22, 2016, at 9:46, Rob Dumoulin <rob@dumoulins.net> wrote:

That is correct Mike. I secured the parts for Charlie at Summit Racing a number of years ago. It was a good quality mechanical gauge. Nothing special for it to hold up with the heat around the motor, other then I believe it was all metal. I have my oil temperature gauge on the right side of my oil pressure gauge where the radio would have been. Oil pressure and fuel pressure is also on the F.A.S.T Ezdash monitor that is on the dash board. The Ezdash unit also monitors everything on the engine and fuel injection system, which for me was nice to know. I also have a stand along fuel pressure gauge in the center console and a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on the main fuel rail in back of the engine. I know this all sounds like overkill, which it is, but I like lots of information. I installed the oil temperature gauge after I installed the Laminova oil cooler. If somebody wants to take the time to tell me how to post pictures to this site, I would do that.
