Hi all, just fitted a pair of new door mirrors and was in the process of refitting the door cards when I remembered a piece of advice a friends dad gave me forty years ago ( yeah I know) " don't put the plastic back on the door behind the card as it causes condensation and inevitably corrosion" What do you guys think, leave the plastic on or bin it? That looks just the job John, i might invest myself. I don't know the material my cards are made of , i've replaced them for now, i need to take the mirrors off to get them painted at some point. Sent by Michael Barnes

I use a thin and waterproof sound blocking/dampening material from Cascade Audio, VB-2HD, which is ideally suited for a vapor barrier on a car door. It has an adhesive backing that holds the material to the door. http://www.cascadeaudio.com/automotive_audio_enhancement/dampers_for_cars.ht...
