Re: [DeTomaso] NPC-Forum on Google Chrome Gmail

Matt - It's not just you. I'm not 100% sure on the details but gmail displays the digest format in raw text. Some list members use smart email tools that allow formatting text that under the covers essentially duplicates the contents of the email. When the list members just add a couple lines of text to the top of a long post that gets duplicated things get out of control quick. Multiple responses in one chain (duplicated) turns into a real pain in the ass. Anyone that is still reading they can see this post as an example: http://server.detomasolist.com/pipermail/detomaso/2016-July/092509.html The most recent three responses are 2-3 lines each, but each of those responses are really almost 2000 lines each. Back to back to back that turns into a mess in the digest. The 8 posts sent on July 6 (July 7 Digest) are almost 20,000 lines. Uggh! What can we do about it? Probably nothing. If responders just add text without editing what they are responding to then we just get stuck with the clutter. Depending on the mail client it's not obvious what is being sent. No one is going to edit dozens or hundreds of lines out of an included email on a phone. It is what it is. . . --michael cox Sent by Matt
Howdy folks, I receive the daily digest and every since it was "fixed" to have the ability to attach pics my list of emails is a scrambled mess. It's been like that for months or since the change. It seems like I get endless resends of old "original message" posts and then I get "references" which list everybody's email.

Hi again, Thank you for the replies about the Gmail issue. Rob Dumoulin suggested this to me: "I suggest you create a Pantera folder in your gmail inbox. Switch your preferences to be every email rather than a daily digest. When the first one comes in, create a rule based on the sender's name and tell the rule to skip the inbox and move the message to the new pan tera folder. The threads stay nice and organized allowing you to choose a subject line and see any replies together." So I did. I didn't even know you could do that! Now I have 2 tabs for my inbox. One is Primary mail and the other is Forums. All Detomaso post go right into the forum page. When I set it up it even pulled ALL previous Detomaso post clogging up my Primary folder into the one Forum folder. I can also reply directly to specific post without having to cut and paste from the digest version of delivery. Perfect Give it a try Michael! Nothing is ever "It is what it is". No offense intended but I have always disliked that saying. I prefer "It is what you make it!" Thanks again,Good day! Matt On Fri, Jul 8, 2016 at 9:54 PM, Michael Cox <coxmichaelt@gmail.com> wrote:
