Fair price and a very misleading statement of We believe this is the lowest mile Mangusta in existence. I guess no basic checking up was done. I do hope he gets his asking price, no reason he can not. Back in the early '80s, my dad had an opportunity to buy a '69 'Goose for (if memory serves) $8,500. He didn't pop for it, as a few months earlier, he took the money set aside to buy new drapes for the house and purchased a couple 10" Campis and a set of Goodyear Blue Streaks to run at Riverside. With my mom still livid of having to live with tattered window dressings, he erred on the side of peace in the household (besides, buying the 'Goose would have meant my mon's car would have to live outside the garage), and the car went to another home. Had he (or any of us for that matter) bought the car, it would have been an incredible investment. _"...it would have been an incredible investment."__ _And that's about it. Nobody is really tearing around the countryside in their Mangusta anymore, if they ever did. Lucky for us, the Pantera is much better suited for driving the sh*t out of. Still, to my eyeballs, the Mangusta is hands-down one of the deadliest-looking sports cars ever built. If I had $300K laying around, I'd snap this one up in a heartbeat. (rather have the twin headlight model though) Even at $300K, I'd bet the 'goose is still going to be a sound investment. If the oddball Toyota 2000 GT can hit a million, by Jeebus, the Mangusta can't be far behind. Joe, that was a great video, sexy looking car (it probably helped that I loved the color) and the driver appeared very skilled. Thank you for sharing. Asa Jay Quoting Joe Stockett <qrtlow@gmail.com>:

I think I could thoroughly enjoy driving a Mangusta if it weren't so valuable. I think it's a sexy looking car and can turn heads even if its not fast or nimble. I rode with Steve Liebenow at the track in Parump once, just to see what it was like. It was cool. Not being made of money myself, I've had to make due with a scale model. Of course what I'd like to see is an 18th scale die cast available. :) Asa Jay Quoting audionut@hushmail.com:

When I was living in LA (Hacienda Heights, actually, about 20m east of LA), in about '86, I was just over the hill from Whittier, CA. I was driving down Whittier Blvd one afternoon, and as I passed this typically seedy looking SoCal used car lot, I noticed something unusual under the "covered" section of the inventory. It was a 4-headlight 'Goose, and as I remember, looked to be in decent shape, although I didn't bother to ask anyone about it. At the time, I was just impressed with myself that I knew what it was. 'Would be interesting to know what they were asking for it at the time . . . Oh well.
