Yes you do, Chris . . . Well, in one sense at least. Some have said that when you and Pandora came together, that you "really bought the farm this time . . .". So, by that reasoning, selling the farm and selling Pandora could mean one ant the same. I know that is not in your plans . . .

So I finally got the organic certification for the farm, it has been 2 years. In the next few weeks I'll be picking & selling a few acres worth of avocados to a local distributor.
Now for the Pantera content. Once I get paid for the avocados, I'll be able to afford to ship my cars (push button Pantera & convertible Corvette) from Seattle to SoCal, some time mid-summer. Two years of being separated from my Pantera, I can't wait to tear up some roads. _______________________________________________

If this just happened suddenly, Check the thermostat first, and like Chuck said, make sure it is a Cleveland not a more common Windsor thermostat. It is otherwise the Radiator. No amount of fans can cool a clogged radiator much less one that was not that well designed in the first place. A new Fluidyne with the proper NoRossion water additive to keep the Lucas anodes at bay, will make an unbelievable difference. Just a note: I read up on NoRosion - VERY neat product - I’m convinced. However, it should be noted that the maker DOES NOT recommend it for aluminum radiators vs brass/copper. They recommend HyperKuhl (their product, of course) for aluminum. Thanks for the tip. Jack #4348 On Jul 5, 2016, at 7:58 AM, Larry Stock <larrys@panteraparts.com> wrote:

I agree with other's post...don't cut the hood. Get the air out and consider a continuous venting configuration. (the TSB recommendation, radiator top vent back to swirl tank, was not a very good option). And of course a new, PROPER thermosatat. As for the gauge indication, was the new sender compatible with the gauge. Is the location on the engine front the exiting coolant (hottest) or the inlet (cooler). Reading 230F all the time could be the sender failed or you have a ground in the sensing wire (low resistance higher gauge reading) Joe -----Original Message----- From: DeTomaso [mailto:detomaso-bounces@server.detomasolist.com] On Behalf Of Owen Cooke Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2016 10:13 AM To: detomaso@server.detomasolist.com Subject: Re: [DeTomaso] DeTomaso Digest, Vol 144, Issue 27 ..I only had this slight boiling over in the swirl tank once also i fitted a new temp sender on the engine front and it read about 160 degrees until now its reading 230 degress all the time with only veery small vasriation in reading even when engine is cold any quick ideas on why it would suddenly go wrong ?

Good morning Owen. Honestly - vents in the hood are a lot of work and, in my opinion, not worth the effort. You don't mention if your engine has been upgraded, but, for reference, I am running a fairly powerful 351 (480 hp) and using a radiator supplied by Pantera Performance. I believe they use a radiator made by Ron Davis. When I bought our car it came with a new Fluidyne. Which leaked. Honestly - check the web - way too many of the Fluidynes leak at the tube sheet. The easiest option is to have your current radiator cleaned out. This may well solve the issue. Of course, using an appropriate thermostat is also right up in keeping things running cool. None the less - I am glad to read that you are driving your Pantera! Owen, Just as a quick check I would try to get an infrared temp reading in close proximity of the temperature sender and see how it relates to you gauge. Also I would check the radiator tank cap and overflow tank. It should be an 18 lb caps. If these checks are correct I would look further at the more complex answers. Good luck, jerry knotts On 7/5/2016 9:13 AM, Owen Cooke wrote:
Guys i need advice please

rad and fans are original. with no vents in front hood i notice that the hood got extremely hot and i got some boiling over the fans were working but they are the originals and not very powerful
i am considering putting vents in the hood and fitting a new rad and fans kit assembly (PPC Fluidyne rad ) from pantera parts this the one with puller fans but i want to keep it upright
does this plan make sense i dont need a massive improvement in cooling - i only had this slight boiling over in the swirl tank once also i fitted a new temp sender on the engine front and it read about 160 degrees until now its reading 230 degress all the time with only veery small vasriation in reading even when engine is cold any quick ideas on why it would suddenly go wrong ? i would appreciate advice
best regards owen cooke

Congrats! I hope I have as much patience to wait for my farm to sell so I can finish my car. Oh, wait; I don't have a farm... Sincerely, Chris
