FWIW, if one taps the cast-steel lever sideways with a hammer to slide it on its splined shaft, thats the easiest way to break one. I know of two that snapped that way. Used as designed, they last forever. My 2¢- J Deryke I have heard that the stock levers can break, this seems like cheap insurance.
