My dome light won't turn off when I close the doors. I pulled the wires from the courtesy light toggle in the dash, but it didn't affect the dome light. How do I fix the problem? I am VERRRY tech challenged. Thanks in advance. Fred P.S. I had trouble with my red door lights, but that has been fixed. My seat belt light will turn off if I fasten both seat belts (even without a passenger). I wonder if there is a connection of these ills.
One side of the lamp is battery + and the other side is grounded through any of the switches. If that side wire gets grounded via a bare wire any where the light will be on. Note, it is possible that one of the courtesy light cover screws can contact the non-positive side of lamp contact which will turn lamp on. Seems I found the screw was too long when I had this happen.
