Petronix swap out of points -Advice requested.

Folks,Before I lay on top of carb and try and remove distributer cap to replace points n condenser, can I please have guidance on replacing the old ignition components with electronic ignition parts? I understand Petronix is the recommended device to do the swap? Any thing with the distributor itself? Can keep stock Disty? Any recommended Petronix specifically for 351 Cleveland/Pantera? Any installation tips etc..... Thank you in advance. Cliff, Petronix recognizes the Pantera and lists all three models here: pertronix-ignition_cat_header.png [1]Search [2]tinyurl.com The basic model is all you need and will work well with your existing components. I’ve never put one in a Pantera. Lori’s car had it installed before I entered the picture and it has been working great for 20 years or more. I did install one in my GT350 clone back in the 1990s and it transformed the car, making it much easier to start than the old dual point Mallory. Look at the website above, choose your model, and then read the instructions. They make it super simple. I'm no expert but... I weigh in with 100% Standard Distributer with Petronix. After my engine rebuild I did that and it was excellent and has been 100% reliable. Simple and Stable. I run Model 1281DV in my duel point Ford distributer. One uses the same cap and rotor but install fresh wires if they are 5 years old or more.I have had mine installed for 25 years.I keep a spare kit on hand but so far I have not needed it. Simple install with just 2 wires to the coil and then set the timing. In a message dated 3/18/2025 4:20:25 PM Central Daylight Time, terry.himes@pncnet.com writes: I'm no expert but...
