Neat documentation. I noticed that the Make on the bill of sale says Mercury. -----Original Message----- From: Asa Jay Laughton <asajay@asajay.com> To: detomaso <detomaso@server.detomasolist.com> Sent: Wed, Sep 7, 2016 9:58 am Subject: Re: [DeTomaso] Pantera that was delivered to Ford Executive Good morning, Yes, THPNNP05533 was originally a Ford corporate car: http://asajay.com/pantera/asascat/1st_reg.jpg Owned by Ford Motor Company Registered to Philco Ford Corporation Sold to Central Accounting Services in Dearborn Shipped to Philco Ford Corporation in Palo Alto http://asajay.com/pantera/asascat/sticker.jpg After two years later on 5/20/75, the company sold it to an employee, Gene Hickcox, who had been driving it before as a company car. http://asajay.com/pantera/asascat/contract.jpg Gene owned it until his death, whereupon it became part of his estate given to the University of Southern California. Ed,
Lots of ford execs were able to get company cars. Some asked for trucks, or lincolns, and some asked for Panteras.
Asa Jay's Pantera was originally a Ford company car as I recall. I think it actually belonged to a guy who worked for some Ford electronics subsidiary or something like that? They would get the car for a year and then turn it in to be sold.

Can anyone elaborate on the Pantera that was delivered to the Ford Executive? Supposedly his kids took the car out for a joy ride and crashed it?
Is this just folklore or did it really happen? Do you know the month / year, what color the car was, any details, who the Executive was, etc?
When Ford ordered a car that was a staff pool vehicle and not for retail sales, what did they generally do with them? Auto shows, advertising, etc?
Would the Ford Executives car have been ordered that way from the factory? As a staff vehicle?
Thanks, Ed
