Dear Mike,
I measured my stock '74 gas tank drain plug with teflon on the threads and found a diameter of 22.5 mm. I was not able to measure the pitch with the plug in situ.
I believe that it is a metric 22 mm diameter plug.

All,
I thought the gas tank drain plug was M22x1.5. Jack Pegoraro has a plug in his tank that is much smaller, something like 17.5 mm which makes me think it’s 3/8 NPT.
Can anybody confirm the 1974 normal drain plug size, and actual OD of the plug?
Mike
