Me too! A 1930 Ford Model A, 1974 Pantera, 2007 Jeep Wrangler, and a 2022 Rav4 Toyota for my wife. The Model A has lots of manuals on how to completely teardown and rebuild everything including the engine. The 2022 Toyota has a manual that simply states, "Don't Drink the Battery Acid." ;-/ Terry On 4/12/25, 7:48 AM, "jim.kosloskey@jim-kosloskey.com <mailto:jim.kosloskey@jim-kosloskey.com>" <jim.kosloskey@jim-kosloskey.com <mailto:jim.kosloskey@jim-kosloskey.com>> wrote: I have 4 vehicles (Pantera, F-150, Honda Fit, Winnebago MH). Fortunately, with little or no electronics (the newest model is 2013). The wife has a 2022 vehicle which I rarely drive and so far, the electronics are not obtrusive but I can imagine the challenge with multiple more modern vehicles. Personally, I don't think I need a PC as my dash controls. -----Original Message----- From: Bill Lewis <lotus0005@hotmail.com <mailto:lotus0005@hotmail.com>> Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2025 10:29 AM To: JOHN NEAL <jrnealjr@aol.com <mailto:jrnealjr@aol.com>>; Asa Jay Laughton <asajay@asajay.com <mailto:asajay@asajay.com>> Cc: detomaso@server.detomasolist.com <mailto:detomaso@server.detomasolist.com> Subject: [DeTomaso] Re: Pantera horn ….. uh, ya gotta read it How many modern people have multiple brands of cars! I have a pickup, a Jeep, wife had a Lexus, etc. And, with modern cars having so many electronic/computer gizmos - learning everything for each brand is, well, tough! ________________________________ From: Asa Jay Laughton via DeTomaso <detomaso@server.detomasolist.com <mailto:detomaso@server.detomasolist.com>> Sent: Friday, April 11, 2025 9:51 PM To: JOHN NEAL <jrnealjr@aol.com <mailto:jrnealjr@aol.com>> Cc: detomaso@server.detomasolist.com <mailto:detomaso@server.detomasolist.com> <detomaso@server.detomasolist.com <mailto:detomaso@server.detomasolist.com>> Subject: [DeTomaso] Re: Pantera horn ….. uh, ya gotta read it Hahahaha 🤣 Jack, well that narrows it down to between 12 and maybe 24 issues. John, well….thats where they want to put the high beam foot switch. 😐 Asa Jay MSgT, USAFR, Retired On Apr 11, 2025, at 14:30, JOHN NEAL <jrnealjr@aol.com <mailto:jrnealjr@aol.com>> wrote: Only works if you never turn the steering wheel left or right. In todays cars they have a clock spring. It would be easier to put a high beam light switch on the floor. them a clock spring in the steering wheel. I did an illustrated Newsletter article on it. He did have to make some parts but it seemed quite do-able, as I remember. And no- I don't remember what issue but it was before year 2000. I was approached by a Pantera owner today who would like their horn button to be in the center of the steering wheel -and- be functional. I don’t recall ever seeing such a thing done, but doesn’t mean it hasn’t been. Short of fabricating a slip ring kind of affair, I don’t see it being possible. What does the collective know? Has this been done and how?
