IMHO, do not cut the hood. Try some simple things first. Consider a new thermostat, but take precautions that you buy a correct Cleveland rather than the more common Windsor. It is possible the old radiator may be to blame. If there are good radiator shops nearby, then you could pull the radiator and have them tank it and clean it up and pressure test it. That may be all it needs. If the overheating persists, then new fans might be helpful. The other option would be to buy a new radiator and fans from one of the vendors. Now for the Pantera content. Once I get paid for the avocados, I'll be able to afford to ship my cars (push button Pantera & convertible Corvette) from Seattle to SoCal, some time mid-summer.
