4 months ago I brought my radiator to a local shop. They kept the two tanks on both ends and installed a brand new core. It wasn't cheap - not all that less than a new radiator - but it was local, no shipping fees, etc. On Wed, Aug 24, 2016 at 6:04 AM, Pantdino via DeTomaso < detomaso@server.detomasolist.com> wrote:
I know brass and copper radiators are going the way of the dodo bird, but I thought a radiator core could be made any shape or size that was needed.
My radiator was recored in the early 1980's and did fine re cooling, but finally developed a leak in the core. I took it to what used to be a great radiator shop that has since become mainly a general car repair place and they said they can't fix it.
Anyone have their stock radiator recored lately?
I know a lot of people go with aluminum rads, but I'd rather keep the stock "frame" for appearances sake
