What year is your car, is it so new it's a fancy electronic solution? Mine (1972) has no seatbelt warning, and the red lights in the doors simply work with the door closed contacts. Could the door contacts be marginal, sometimes work? Also, the red "safety" lights in the doors stay on when I shut off the engine.
