AJ, Tom Tjaarda was a design genius. The ‘flat’ part of the decklid is arched side to side as well as front to back (as is the front hood). It’s anything but flat. Mike Sent from my iPad

Greeting to the collective,
I was recently looking at the rear edge of the deck lid mating to the rear body. Because I’m working on the future installation of a rear spoiler, I noticed there is a distinct curve upwards with the center just above the release button being nearly a quarter inch higher than the outside edges. Hopefully I’m describing this correctly.
I don’t have another Pantera in my shop to compare. Is that small shelf supposed to be curved or is it supposed to be perfectly flat? I’ve checked a series of photos and it looks like early cars had the rise and later did not. But photos and angles, etc. can be deceiving.
Can folks help me understand which it is? I’m fine with it having a curve, it just makes fabrications more interesting. If I need to supply a photo, I’ll get that later.
😁
