Larry, I've tried the new forum also and don't see anything wrong with the tool. I'm sure with some care and feeding it could be great like the PI forum, once populated with great content and activity.
Personally, I prefer the bulletin board type forum like PI or now the POCO forum over the email list. Easier to organize and find information. This email stream is like sitting at a big table with a lot of your friends having several conversations at once about different stuff. You'll miss something sometimes, and have no idea how to search the years of history to find stuff.
Having said that I gotta remember as SOBill says "the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing". For me, the main thing is new and old friends with a common interest in great cars. So wherever I find those great people, I will go and adapt to whatever tool they prefer.
