Doors should have a thick plastic sheet glued to the metal frame of the door. Garbage bag isn't thick enough.... Mike Sent from my iPhone On Jun 17, 2016, at 12:58, "Scott Mead Photography" <scott@scottmeadphotography.com> wrote:
I know my door cards don't have a plastic backer (and really should). What would be the best vapor barrier to use? Tyvek, 3-mil polyethylene sheeting or something else?

Michael,
Water is designed to flow through the doors. There are drains at the bottom which should be clear, and any debris in the door should be vacuumed up to keep from turning to mud which rusts the doors from the inside.
The only reason for the plastic is to prevent rainwater/washing water from soaking the back side of the card. It should therefore be retained.

Hi all, just fitted a pair of new door mirrors and was in the process of refitting the door cards when I remembered a piece of advice a friends dad gave me forty years ago ( yeah I know) " don't put the plastic back on the door behind the card as it causes condensation and inevitably corrosion" What do you guys think, leave the plastic on or bin it?
Thanks for any input
Michael
