So I am working along the road of my farm earlier today with my new excavator that was just delivered to me today. Keep in mind that this is a private road out in the middle of nowhere. A couple of older ladies (one of them was 91) pass by & we all wave at each other. A little later on as they come back to leave, they stop to ask about some of my neighbors. We end up talking about my farm, my family and to drop by to visit when our house is finished being built. It ends up that she used to live at the end of the road and that her son is a famous rally car driver. She asks me if I have ever heard of Ken Block, her son! Have I? Subaru in the snow, Ford at an airport, Ford in LA, Ford in Egypt (she corrects me ... Dubai) She enjoyed talking to me so much that she gets out of her car & says she has a little present for me. From the back seat she pulls out a hardcover book called "Blast" that is autographed by Ken Block & hands that to me. I am in awe, meeting interesting people out in the middle of nowhere... & now I really hope that she comes back sometime with her son in tow, maybe I'll even get the drifting ride of my life!
