Thus, The 2016 POCA East Coast Rally is now simply the 2016 East Coast Rally, I will be sponsoring it myself in the same manner that I did the two Summer Summit Events in 2011 and 2012 Nothing will change except now you'll need to register and pay directly here. Same plan, same everything, just no direct POCA Involvement. I hope that those of you who were thinking of coming will still do so. Bill Lewis joined us before and had a blast. Gil Mares and again Larry Finch have raised enough hell over Southern Pride Panteras, why they care is a mystery to me, but then again , why does Larry Finch do anything except complain/moan and contribute nothing? Today's lamblast and I kid you not - was the appropriateness of the name Southern Pride. I guess they had some Confederate Battle Flag image in their twisted little minds, A It meant a Group of Big Cats. ( education is important ) Now we all know that a group of Lions is called a Pride. We also know that Pantera means Panther in Italian. Many of you know that Panthers ( like Tigers and Leopards ) are solitary creatures and do not get together in groups, thus there is no name for a group pf them. for a group of Panteras. Panthers only find another Pantera when in heat to screw them. Funny thing happened in May, I went to the so called Fun Rally in Las Vegas ( in the heat ) around a bunch of Panteras, Same exact thing happened to me!A So rather than continue to fight these people 24/7 ( and I'm not kidding, it happened all night long A ), I have moved all 23 of my soon to be official Southern Pride Pantera members to unaffiliated status and deleted any reference to the chapter across all of POCA.com Now since there is no Chapter to do the work, the HHI Concours display with Tom Tjaarda isA unlikely, so I have let Tom know that we (POCA) will not be bringing him here A for the HHI Concours. So to recap the days events East Coast Rally is still going on as a private party. ( please join me) Southern Pride Chapter is kaput Tom Tjaarda coming to HHI Concours is kaput Me doing the August Newsletter is kaput ( it was something, happy to share the cover art with you since I can not attach it ) Me doing all of the technical layout for Laurie Basile for Profiles is kaput John Buckman, Joe Stockett and Ed Mendez have joined Larry Finch and Gil Mares ( the same guy who quit the fun rally job 3 months before the event after spending $1,200 of POCA Money visiting Las Vegas to approve The Plaza venue as the best possible hotel with Bob Reid ). This leaves Laurie Basile, Mike Burnett and I as the last of the people who wanted to make POCA a better club and returns the majority back to the non progressive side of those who do nothing but know everything, and are offended by words like "Pride" and specifically "Southern Pride" I have no idea what the future holds except a return to the POCA that was 100 members smaller and pretty much unchanged for 20 years. I've always liked TX and the independence of your Chapter, esp Bill and Marilyn, Terry, Kirby and others ( don't hate me for not putting your name) Gosh knows there are so many other reasons. You can thank the good folks in California , namely Larry Finch, Gil Mares, Ed Mendez, John Buckman and Joe Stockett. I just wanted you folks to know first, because there were about 6 of you that wanted to come to Savannah, the party is still going to happen. I'm still Prez and we shall see what happens next.
